About Microfibers

A Microfiber is made from polyester. Microfibers are very small, thin fibers that can not be seen with the naked eye. Only after enlarging the fibers 1000 times with a microscope do they become visible.

The fabrics made from these extra-fine fibers provide a superior texture and feel, a gentle drape, and incredible softness. Comparatively, Microfibers are ten times finer than silk, up to thirty times finer than cotton, forty times finer than wool, and one hundred times finer than a human hair. The fabric consists of millions of small tubular channels that transport the dirt, grease and water. The cloth can hold many times its own weight in water thanks to the polyamide fibers capable of high absorbing power. The attraction capability of the microfibers is so strong that it even absorbs bacteria.

Microfibers are developed so that it is possible to clean just with water.

Another characteristic of these Microfibers is their electrostatic effect.

Due to this electrostatic effect, hair, lint and other dust particles are attracted and captured by the microfibers without raising dust. Micro-fiber fabrics are washable in the washing machine at water temperatures up to 200 degrees and their characteristics will remain intact.

Standard microfibers have been used by NASA in the Hermes Spacecraft.
